However, a new business owner you are asking yourself, where do I start?! It can be quite overwhelming to know how to get started with it all. Web development can be tricky with all the moving pieces. However, it’s helpful to remembering some foundations of it.

Platforms:

Which platform are should I use is a questions often hear. The truth is if you’re doing a project with me, I’m going to recommend Squarespace because that’s what I feel the most comfortable with. However, there’s other choices . For example, WordPress is a popular pick for it’s advanced features, Wix is also another option for it’s user-friendly capabilities. Although it’s helpful to get advice from other fellow entrepreneurs, your choice should be about what your business needs.

Time:

Time is another factor that’s important to consider. How long do you want or need this project to take? Is your market excepting it at a certain time? Do you need this website to actually run your company? These are all important questions to ask yourself before starting a project.

Budget:

We have to talk about budget. It’s vital to be prepared for how much this is going to cost. Domains and platform subscription in itself is a cost, but design is a bigger expense. The prices really range depending on who you choose to work with. You can try to find a newbie who may offer a deal or established agencies that charge thousands of dollars. This is a useful conversation to have to decide what results you’re looking for.

Promotion:

Once the site is launched, you’re going to want to promote it. How are you going to do it? Well there a few ways- you can start by sharing it. But how can you get it out to a larger audience? If you can, having a Google page and linking it attracts attention. The Google business pages can be used for Local SEO reach and if you have a brick and mortar company.
